Vendors start re-occupying old market in Tabunok

/ 07:56 AM July 26, 2013

THE Talisay City vendors are slowly returning to the old market in barangay Tabunok, even in the absence of a formal order from Mayor Johnny Delos Reyes.

Last Tuesday, the City Hall has agreed to the demand of market vendors to return to the old market, but only after the old market is repaired.

Mayor Delos Reyes is anxious that the old and dilapidated market structures in barangay Tabunok would pose a danger to vendors and market-goers. The electric and water connection of the old market has yet to be reconnected.

Last week, the City Council approved a resolution authorizing the city engineer to draw a plan for the construction of new market buildings in Tabunok./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc
