Petronas/Mackyworx scores wins in Bohol
Team Petronas/Mackyworx put up a 1-2 finish in the expert scooter open category of the 3rd Leg of the Regional Underbone Grand Prix in Kartways in Panglao, Bohol last weekend.
Vingie Coloma was crowned champion after crossing the chequered flag first with the team’s 160cc scooter. Teammate Clifford Bacus came in second with a higher-displaced scooter.
Coloma’s victory was special since he went up against opponents who were using bikes with higher displacements.
In the other categories, the Petronas/Mackyworx came in second in the novice 4AT scooter division courtsey of Axel Teves. Bimbo Duranggo finished fourth while Dean John Simangan finished fifth in the intermediate-expert 4AT scooter category.
In the Suzuki NEX 115 Grand Prix, the team finished second and third behind brothers Axel and Enzo Teves.
Team manager Macky Niño Macapaz said he was proud with how the team performed. “The boys gave their best in all the categories,” said Macapaz.
The team is now preparing for their next race which will be in Cebu on Aug. 24. /pr
