Gilas tune-up games start tomorrow

/ 07:04 AM July 23, 2013

With the 27th Fiba Asia Men’s Championship fast approaching, the Gilas Pilipinas wrap up their preparations with a pair of tune-up games starting with one against the PBA Selection tomorrow at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Gilas will next battle the Kazakhstan squad on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

This particular match-up presents an interesting puzzle for the Gilas as both may meet in the quarterfinal round of the prestigious Asian tilt, which dangles three slots to the Fiba World Cup next year in Spain.

After a four-year absence in Asian basketball, Kazakhstan looks to return with a bang, reinforced by Euro League veteran Jerry Jamar “Triple J” Johnson under Italian coach Matteo Boniciolli. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
