Father, son stabbed by neighbor in Alcoy

A FATHER and son were stabbed after they tried to stop a fight in barangay Nug-as, Alcoy town, southern Cebu.

Alfredo Nieves, 72, was wounded in the abdomen while his 45-year-old son Zosimo was stabbed in the back.

The suspect, Jerry Iñigo, escaped after the attack.

Police investigation showed that Iñigo and his cousin Solly Lañojan argued Saturday night.

Police said Lañojan ran to the Nieves house when Iñigo threatened to stab him. Iñigo followed his cousin to the victims’ house.

Alfredo tried to pacify Iñigo but the man turned his anger on him and attacked him.

Zosimo ran to his father’s aid but was also stabbed.

The father and son were brought to the Dr. Julio Cardinal Rosales Hospital in Dalaguete town./CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
