Caloocan City, Las Pinas, Quezon City, Pasig, Manila, parts of Laguna, San Juan, Bulacan and Ilocos Sur, Meralco franchise areas, were reported initially affected by the power outage at 6:34 p.m. after the Pagbilao-Tayabas Lines 1 and 2 tripped, causing a drop of 1,000 megawatts from the grid although the cause has yet to be determined, the NGCP said.

“NGCP is focusing on restoration of the affected power lines and will issue updates on the power situation as information is made available,” it also said.
