Sykes pulls off huge win over Teletech

THE Sykes Pioneers leaned on a balanced attack to trounce the sputtering two-time champions Tesltra-Teletech Titans, 67-51, last Saturday in the 2013 E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

The Pioneers chalked up 17 assists resulting into four players scoring in double figures led by the 14-point output of Yrold Caracut.

Frederick Montelibano fired 13 points, Vernie Jose Diotay and Geraldo Bien Galarido added 11 each for the Pioneers, who pocketed their second win in three outings.

The Titans continued to have a rough start as they succumbed to their third defeat in as many games.

Romeo Padillo Jr. paced the Titans with 14 markers, while Clifford Amarado tallied 11 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block.

The Eperformax Reds (1-1) posted what was by far the most lopsided victory in the young season as they massacred the hapless Executive Boutique Lycans (0-2), 98-37.

Rafael Jose Cuico spearheaded the merciless 61-point rout by scoring 18 points, while Romel John Ferrero Lawas and Raymond Dennis Tan contributed 17 and 16, respectively.

Meanwhile, league newcomer Talleco Bandits had a resounding debut after blasting the Teleperformance Lions, 69-57.
