Disabled run over by 3 vehicles in Bacolod ‘hit-and-run’
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Three vehicles ran over a disabled person who could not walk and was dragging his body across Araneta Street in Bacolod City on Tuesday night, police said.
The victim, who was still unidentified, died on the spot in what appeared to be a multiple case of hit-and-run, said Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Perma, chief investigator of the local Traffic Management Unit.
Investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 Docelio Pachoro showed that the man was heading east on Araneta Street, which was not well-lighted, about 8:30 p.m. when three unidentified vehicles hit him in succession and drove away, witnesses said.
It was possible that the drivers did not see the victim, who could not stand and was dragging himself across the street under the pouring rain, Perma said.
Pachoro said nobody has claimed the body at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapel on Lacson Street.
