THE Pañeros and Los Demonyos beat separate foes last Saturday to share the lead with identical 2-0 records in the 7th IBP Governor’s Cup-2011 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
Pañeros beat Primos, 74-68 while Los Demonyos crushed Jodin, 72-69.
Pañeros trailed 13-14 in the first quarter but used a 29-14 second quarter blast to lead 43-30 at half time.
In the 2nd game, Los Demonyos led from start to finish for the 13-point victory.
Bads del Prado and Lito Ortiz led Los Demonyos with 11 points apiece, while Marchel Sarno paced Jodin with 10 markers.
Meanwhile, Super Idols drubbed winless Bhutakalz, 67-51 for its first win in two outings.
Fermin Pepito and Benjo Macion led Super Idols with 17 and 14 points, respectively while Khan Guieb paced Bhutakalz with 13.
In the last game, the Eagles upset defending champion Pecandela Law Firm, 53-51 to even their standing with 1-1 cards.
Jan Vallecer and Dwight Remedio paced the Eagles with 10 points each while Jessie Capoy and Francis Pepito paced Pecandela with 15 and 11 points, respectively.
