/ 06:49 AM May 31, 2013

THE image of the Sto. Nino de Cebu is set to visit Singapore, the sacred image’s first trip outside the country to promote “ecological evangelization.”

Fr. Tito Soquiño, president of Sto Niño de Cebu Agustinian Development Foundation, Inc. (SNAF), said the activity aims to tap the 117,000 Filipinos in Singapore.

Soquino, however, said no definite date had yet been set for the trip.

“The Sto Niño has an environmental message. It is holding the world with his hands,” Fr. Soquiño said.

It is also one of the proposed activities to support the Thousand Islands Project, a flagship SNAF project. It aims to cover 1,000 of the 7,107 islands in the country that needs a new evangelization in the face of environmental challenges./Correspondent Cherry Joy Quito
