The Prime Asia-University of the Visayas Green Lancers hope to take another step forward in their push towards the local collegiate crown as they take on the San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology Wildcats today in Game One of their best-of-three finals series in the 2013 Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.
The match-up actually is a rematch of last year’s finals series in this very same tournament. And the powerhouse Lancers are hoping to achieve much of the same success they had last year as they gun to gain momentum heading to their title bid in the Cesafi tournament later this year.
So far, the Lancers have been untouchable in this competition, having won their last 13 games, including their three encounters with the Wildcats. And with African import Mike Harry returning from an injury, the Lancers look to be the odds-on favorite to hoist the Partner’s Cup crown.
Aside from Harry, the Lancers also boast of such potent weapons like veteran guard John Abad, Rookie of the Year-MVP Wowie Escosio and Cameroonian beanpole Steve Akomo.
The Wildcats on the other hand, will try to keep in step with their opponents behind the play of stellar rookies Vincent Menguito and Joshua dela Cerna along with Floyd Taboada and Allen Dimco.
