2 motorcycle-riding robbers killed in shootout with police

Two men who allegedly stole a motorcycle  and then robbed a woman were killed in a shootout with policemen in Quezon City on Sunday.

Recovered from the slain men were two .45-cal. pistols, a cell phone belonging to  Mary Grace Beltran and the motorcycle they reportedly stole from Ryan Abayan. Both Beltran and Abayan are from Barangay Doña Imelda.

Police Officer 3 Erickson Isidro of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said that the slain robbers had names tattooed on their bodies. While one had “Romano Santos” tattooed on his right arm, his companion had the names “Imelda” and “Jacklyn” on his chest and “Lando” on his abdomen.

Isidro said the shootout happened at 2 a.m. yesterday on Sto. Tomas near Cordillera Streets after the two men fired upon a police team.

According to him, members of the Galas police station chanced upon the robbers as they were conducting follow-up operations for the recovery of the motorcycle which was stolen at the corner of Palanza and Santol Streets in Barangay Doña Imelda, near the area where Beltran said she lost her cell phone to two men on a motorcycle.
