Police nab suspect in kidnapping of Quezon female broadcaster

LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines – Police have tracked down and arrested one of the suspects in the Sunday morning kidnapping  of broadcaster Melinda Jennifer “Jenny” Glefonea, reporter and news anchor of the Edge Radio (103.1-FM) based in Candelaria, her co-anchor Mitch Regondola, said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

She said she got the information from the Candelaria police but said she did not have the information on where the suspect was collared.

Glefonea was abducted by two men while she was eating in a restaurant in Candelaria at 4 a.m. Sunday.

Chief Inspector Edcille Canals, Quezon police media relation officer, also sent a text message to the Inquirer that lawmen have recovered the Innova van used in the abduction of Glefonea.

He said the operatives were still locating the kidnapped broadcaster, as of Sunday afternoon.
