‘Basag Kotse’ gang strikes

A car parked outside a fastfood chain was looted at the Mandaue Reclamation Area.

Rudy Cabardo, 42, area sales manager of Le Price International Corporation, and his co-worker Andy Malicmat, 29, were dining at a burger joint on Ouano Avenue when members of the “Basag Kotse Gang” struck past 10 p.m. Friday.

The two said they were away for about 30 minutes. They said the rear window of their Toyota Hi-lux was already smashed when they returned to the car.

Among the items stolen were Cabardo’s P5,000 and an automotive parts worth P90,000.

The establishment’s security guard didn’t notice the burglary.

SPO2 Marcos Noval of the Intelligence and Detection Management Branch of Mandaue City Police Office said investigators are reviewing the footage of the store’s security camera.

Several incidents of car break-in had happened in the area.
