For not visiting Rama, City Hall deprives Tejero barangay captain of P12M funding

AT least P12 million worth of projects and financial assistance budgeted last year were not released to barangay Tejero in Cebu City after its barangay captain Jessielou Cadungog refused to visit Mayor Michael Rama’s office at City Hall.

Cadungog said Tejero has not received a garbage truck and a Toyota Innova vehicle like other barangays.

Rama also refused to sign documents to authorize the conversion of his unused leave credits to cash worth P30,000.

“Gusto sa mayor nga mo adto ko sa City Hall aron mag storya mi (The mayor wanted me to talk to him at City Hall),” Cadungog said, which the mayor confirmed to local media.

Cadungog said he refused to visit the mayor for fear that Rama would only scold him for supporting the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK) of Rep. Tomas Osmeña.

Barangay Tejero has a voting population of 8,673. Majority of its barangay officials except Councilor Merlyn Servila is allied with BO-PK.
