Bostolits, SCH set up UBCA title battle

THE Yoly Meso-led San Carlos Heights (SCH) beat RCAF, 95-86, Tuesday night to advance to the finals of the Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA)-2013, basketball tournament.

SCH will face Grace Bostolits in the winner-take-all finals next week after the latter outlasted Mariquit Aqua Ventures, 101-98.

After trailing by three, 17-20 in the first quarter, SCH tied the count at the half, 42-all with a 25-22 run. In the third, it maintained its slim lead, 66-63, heading to the fourth where it outscored RCAF, 29-23 for the 9-point victory.

Jun Sumargo and Barak Ecojedo fired a game-high 19 and 18 points, respectively for SCH while Joey Medina, Evans Sevellejo and Kuya Calvo paced RCAF with 12 points each.

In the main game, Bostolits and MAV engaged in an air-tight battle until the triumvirate of Roger Quitoy, Toly Petiluna and Michael Malalay orchestrated a, 28-24 Bostolits run in the fourth for the, 101-98, win.

Roger Quitoy and Toly Petiluna led Bostolits with 19 and 18, respectively while Robert Abasolo paced MAV with a night-high 39 points.
