9-year-old girl needs help for her chemo

The whole time Aira Llorera, 9, was suffering from Langerhans Cell Histiocyctosis, it was her grandmother who took care of her after her mother, Levita, died of breast cancer in May 2005.
Aira was diagnosed with the bone disease, which affected her spine and cervix in October of the same year, her grandmother Aida Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez, who makes baby clothes in Bulacan, said they were seeking financial assistance from Inquirer readers for the chemotherapy treatment of Aira whose father, Wendell, a farmer, cannot afford.
“We’re back to square one. We’re starting all over again,” Rodriguez said.
She said that Aira needed to undergo 12 weeks of inductive chemotherapy costing P48,000 each and another 54 sessions at P4,500 per session at the Philippine General Hospital.
“Look, grandma, I can’t walk. My feet are numb again,” she remembered Aira telling her every time the LCH would recur.
