Class 2003 nips Batch ‘96
THE Dimsum Frito 2003 put up a cohesive effort to thwart the league-leading First Family Appliance ’96, 41-38, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Tuesday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Even without their ace player Joey Catipay, Class 2003 played together with Chester Siao, Jim Paul Yankee and Irene Ferdinand Lague combining for 25 points as their team improved to 10-4, win-loss.
Ruschmarc Lariosa posted 12 points on top of two rebounds and two steals but went home on a pensive note as Class ’96 suffered its third loss in 14 games.
In the other match, Raymark Ryan Ong had 20 points, three rebounds and two steals as Wild Rice 2007 won over Young Builders ’91, 48-46. Peter de la Torre had 14 points and six rebounds for Class ’81, which absorbed its 10th setback against only four wins. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
