Gems pound on Racal-less Razorbacks
THE CEBUANA Lhuillier Gems took advantage of the absence of Hog’s Breath Café’s top gunner Kevin Racal to carve out an 84-62 win over the Razorbacks in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.
Racal left the game as early as the first period due to a knee injury and the Gems immediately pounced to outscore their opponents, 25-12, in the second canto and cruise to their third win in five games.
Former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroon Alvin Padilla had nine of his 18 points in that pivotal stretch while Gab Banal and Paul Zamar had 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Michael Lima paced the Razorbacks with 12 as they fell to their fourth loss against a lone win in this tournament.
