Kidney patient asks readers for help

Alone and suffering from chronic kidney disease, Rea Rita Hilario has turned to a friend for the moral and emotional support she badly needs.
The 46-year-old former office secretary whose parents died of cancer in the late 1990s has been looking for sponsors and donors for her treatment with the help of Rosalyn Lecciones.
A resident of Tondo, Manila, Hilario undergoes dialysis three times a week at IM Health Medical, Dialysis & Wellness Center near SM San Lazaro, in Sta. Cruz, Manila, at P2,500 per session. She receives a shot of Recormon afterward to keep her hemoglobin levels normal. Each injection costs P1,700.
“My friend has been to many charitable institutions in the last eight years and she has helped prolong my life. I’m knocking on the hearts of your readers because I am finding it difficult to raise P73,000 a month,” she said.
