MANILA, Philippines—Authorities were on the lookout for a 58-year-old farmer who allegedly raped a minor in Quezon province, police said Wednesday.
Teodoro “Teody” Caballes Veluz, of Barangay (village) Abang in Lucban, Quezon was accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl earlier this month, said Police Officer 3 Sandoval Monaliza of Quezon Provincial Police Office.
The girl said she was raped by Veluz inside a nipa hut in Barangay (village) Aliliw in Lucban around 5 p.m. last March 4, Veluz said.
The victim allegedly abused several times, but the information on when the other incidents happened was not immediately available, he said.
Veluz said it was the victim’s former teacher who learned about the assaults as the girl did not seek help from anyone.
The alleged rape incidents were relayed to a Municipal Social Welfare Department personnel, who subsequently reported them to authorities on Tuesday.
