Another policeman tagged in the robbery-extortion complaint filed by a call-center agent has surfaced, joining two more low-ranking peers who were disarmed and ordered relieved by the Quezon City Police District.

QCPD-Fairview station commander Superintendent Virgilio Tan turned over Police Officer 1 Benjie Tan to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit on Friday.

Earlier, PO1s George Verbo Jr. and Thomas Jansen Tulio were charged with robbery-extortion by the city prosecutor, after being accused by a call-center agent of making an illegal arrest and demanding P20,000 for his release.

The complainant said four QCPD men in plainclothes arrested him for alleged drug-pushing on Tuesday, roughed him up while in detention, and released him only after his live-in partner produced P15,000.
