10 fall as PDEA busts Talisay drug den

Ten persons were arrested when law enforcers raided a shanty believed to have been used as a drug den in barangay Bulacao, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

The owner of the shanty, a certain Esyot, was not around during the raid conducted by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) on Thursday night.

Esyot is suspected to be a big-time drug pusher who could sell almost a kilo of shabu a week, Levi Ortiz, assistant regional director of PDEA-7, said.

Although he was not arrest, charges will still be filed against Esyot for maintaining a drug den, Ortiz said.

PDEA recovered at least 70 packs of suspected shabu worth P300 each and drug-sniffing paraphernalia in the shanty.

PDEA said the arrested persons were caught using shabu.
