In Legazpi, JV Ejercito sees new UNA strategies

LEGAZPI CITY—Opposition senatorial candidate Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito-Estrada has acknowledged that results of recent surveys showing a possible dominance of the Senate race by allies of President Aquino are forcing the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) to rethink its strategies.

“We have to redirect our political strategy in terms of political campaign scenario and building more political machinery on the ground,” he said.

Estrada is only one of three UNA senatorial candidates who entered the so-called Magic 12 in a new survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Estrada held a series of consultations with local chief executives in Albay and was also a guest speaker at the Jaycees Club International (JCI) conference in Naga City.

He also held a dialogue with students at a youth forum in Bicol University in Daraga, Albay.

The SWS survey result showed that nine candidates of the administration’s Team PNoy are likely to dominate the Senate race while only three UNA candidates—Estrada, Miguel Zubiri and Nancy Binay—are likely to make it to the list of probable winners.
