Alice Guo’s petition for bail denied by Pasig court
Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s (real name: Guo Hua Ping) petition for bail has been denied by a Pasig court.
Prosecutor-General Anthony Fadullon also confirmed the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167 ‘s dismissal of Guo’s petition to INQUIRER.net.
Contractual, job-order gov’t workers to receive gratuity pay – Marcos
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Friday released an administrative order (AO) granting the release of gratuity pay for the contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers in the government.
Based on AO No. 28, workers whose services are engaged through COS and JO, who have rendered a total or an aggregate of at least four months of actual satisfactory performance of service as of 15 December 2024, and whose contracts are still effective as of the same date, may be granted a one-time gratuity pay not more than P7,000 each for fiscal year 2024.
House urged to act on VP Sara impeachment complaints
The House of Representatives should now act on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, lawmakers from the Makabayan bloc said on Friday.
In a joint statement, ACT Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro, Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas, and Kabataan party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel said that the third impeachment complaint against Duterte bolsters the call for accountability, particularly regarding issues with confidential fund (CF) expenditures.
Free toll on SMC expressways on Christmas, New Year’s Eve
All toll fees in San Miguel Corporation’s expressways will be free of charge on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the conglomerate said Friday.
According to the SMC in a statement, waiving the toll fees at expressways it operates on the two biggest holidays of the year would “make holiday travel smoother for motorists.”
