CAVITE—A 19-year-old was shot dead by a security guard while trying to break up a brawl between two groups of men in a subdivision in Imus City, Cavite, early on Friday.
Imus City police chief Supt. Redrico Maranan, in a phone interview, identified the victim as Vlademir Teves Jr., a resident of Las Piñas City.
According to Maranan, Teves and his friends entered Villa Celina Subdivision in Barangay Bayang Luma VII at past 1 a.m. to confront another group of young men from the subdivision.
The confrontation led to a brawl, prompting security guard Richard Marto to try to break up the fight. But instead of heeding his warning, the guard said Teves kept on attacking and began throwing stones at him.
“The guard said Teves was the most aggressive in the group,” forcing him to shoot the teen, Maranan said. Maricar Cinco, Inquirer Southern Luzon
