‘JOSEPH ESTRADA’ HURT IN BIKE CRASH

A NAMESAKE of former president Joseph Estrada was injured after the motorcycle he was driving crashed in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

The man sustained bruises in the head and elbows.

Estrada, 47, of barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City, was drunk during the accident, police said.

The man was found by a security guard slumped on the ground beside his Honda motorcycle with plate number GD-9027 at 1:45 a.m yesterday.

MAN STABBED BY ‘COP’

A 26-YEAR-OLD storekeeper was stabbed by a man who pretended to be a policeman in General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City early morning yesterday.

John Kortler Cuico of barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City was taken to the Chong Hua Hospital with a stab wound in the neck.

The alleged suspect, Joel Reyes Francisco, was arrested while trying to escape on board a taxi.

Police said Cuico and his friends came from Mango Square Mall and were heading home when the attack happened past 3 a.m.

Police said while waiting for a taxi, Cuinco’s companion Werner Nuñez was very noisy because of drunkenness.

Police said Francisco approached the victim’s group and introduced himself as a policeman.

Police said Francisco suddenly drew a knife and stabbed Cuico.
