Outpost in Engaño

AS the May elections draw near, the police in Lapu-Lapu City is setting up an outpost in barangay Punta Engaño to maintain the peace in the area.

Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, Lapu-Lapu City police chief, said yesterday that this would be the only new outpost to be set up in the barangays in the city.

In October 2010 a few hours before the barangay elections started, Punta Engaño was the scene of a shootout between members of rival groups where a driver of one of the candidates for barangay captain was killed while three others were wounded./Correspondent NoRman V. Mendoza
