MAN KILLS SIS-IN-LAW

A 33-YEAR-OLD woman was fatally shot by the brother of her deceased husband in barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Vivian Moran, 33, died on the spot with a gunshot wound in the head.

Police arrested the suspect, Benito Loreto, 22, of barangay Tabunok, Talisay City.

Police said Moran and Loreto had been at odds after the suspect accused the woman of neglecting her four children after the death of her husband.

Police said Moran was drinking with friends in sitio Mohon last Thursday night when Loreto arrived.

HELPER NABBED FOR THEFT

A HOUSEHELPER was arrested after she was accused by her Chinese employers of stealing cash and valuables in barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City.

Katherine Berot, 18, was arrested in her house in barangay Canduman, Mandaue shortly after the theft was reported.

Baixin Hong, 22 and Naya Qian, 25, told police that the helper was no longer in their apartment and some valuables when they arrived home in Singson Village on Thursday afternoon.

The complainants said among the stolen items were three pairs of earrings worth P10,000; three pieces of necklace worth P20,000; and two cell phones worth P5,000 and P1,000 cash.

After receiving the report, police went to the helper’s house and arrested her there.

MAN GUNNED DOWN IN TOLEDO

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was killed after he was shot by motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Matab-ang, Toledo City, southern Cebu.

Dexter Tejadillo, a resident of barangay Estaca, Minglanilla town, Cebu, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the body and head.

Police said Tejadillo was driving a motorcycle on his way to Toledo when he was attacked past 11 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a motorcycle with two men on board drove beside Tejadillo before the backrider opened fire.

The assailant escaped toward sitio Tunga, police said.

TEENager STEALs BIKE, BURGLES STORE

A TEENAGER allegedly stole a motorcycle then burgled a neighborhood store in barangay Kabangbang, Bantayan town, northern Cebu.

Police withheld the name of the teenager since he claimed he is still a minor.

Police said a pouch of dried marijuana leaves was also recovered from the possession of the teenager.

The boy lives in Mandaue City, police said.

The boy was accused of stealing a motorcycle owned by Liza Illustrisimo in barangay Maricaban, Sta. Fe town shortly after midnight Wednesday.

The boy then drove to Kabangbang where he allegedly ransacked the store of Valentine Cabaluna.

The boy was arrested around 8 a.m. when barangay tanods spotted the boy in the area acting suspiciously, PO3 Mesyl Illustrisimo of the Bantayan police said.
