Foreigner goes wild in Mandaue restaurant
A CANADIAN-IRANIAN dentistry student was arrested after he went berserk in a restaurant at the Mandaue City Reclamation Area.
Davoud Farzi, 18, was detained at the Subangdaku police station. He is facing charges of malicious mischief and slander by deed.
Farzi, a student of the Cebu Doctors’ University, lives in a condominium unit which is located in the same building as the restaurant.
Police said Farzi was with a group of friends at Margarita Family Cruisine in Zuelig Avenue when he went wild past midnight yesterday.
Tension broke out inside the restaurant when Farzi started slamming furniture. The man also broke glasses.
The restaurant’s head waiter Morescallo Guy, 40, tried to pacify Farzi but the foreigner allegedly slapped him in the face, police said.
Security guards Dennis Balansag, 29, and Ricky Labis, 29, intervened and tried to subdue Farzi, who fought back and even tried to grab the gun of one of the two security guards, police said.
The trouble ended when police arrived and arrested Farzi.
Police brought Farzi to the Mandaue City Hospital where the foreigner tested positive for alcohol./CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
