US, Philippines sign deal on sharing military information

US and Philippine defense chiefs signed an agreement Monday on sharing classified military information and technology, as the long-time treaty allies deepen cooperation in a bid to counter Chinese influence in the region.

DOJ: Task force probing Duterte’s possible violation of humanitarian law

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Monday confirmed that the task force looking into extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during the drug war is also probing former President Rodrigo Duterte’s possible violation of Republic Act 9581 or the International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

In a chance interview with reporters, Remulla was asked about possible violations committed by Duterte. The Department of Justice chief said while several laws are being looked at, including the Revised Penal Code, “it is RA 9581 that is what we are looking at right now.”

Ex-speaker Alvarez: Quad comm hearing was a dud, House must stop it

Davao del Norte 1st District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez believes the House of Representatives should stop conducting quad committee hearings as no new issue surfaced when former President Rodrigo Duterte was invited as a resource person.
