Jonher cagers rout AMA

THE Jonher Merchandise drubbed AMA Computer School, 75-59, Monday night for its third win in four games to snare the solo lead in the ongoing elimination round of the 2013 Inter-Merchant basketball tournament at the Pope John gym in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Jonher Merchandise got a slim, 16-13 lead in the opening period led by CIT-University Wildkitten Jonher Espina, then tore the game apart with a sizzling 26-16 blast in the second quarter for a commanding 23-point lead, 42-19, at the half anchored on the torrid shooting of Werde Lopez and Baruk Ceniza.

AMA responded with a, 23-12 run in the third to inch closer at, 42-54 heading to the final period but Jonher Merchandise’s Baruk Ceniza exploded for 14 big points in the windup for his team’s 16-point victory.

Jonher Espina led the winners with 21 points spiked by six trifectas while Baruk Ceniza and Werde Lopez combined for 36 points. Dong Velasquez and Toto Go paced AMA with 17 and 12 markers, respectively. /Correspondent Dale Rosal
