RCAF nails third victory

THE Romy Faunillan-led RCAF routed Mariquit Aqua Venture (1-1), 96-76, last Sunday for its third win in as many games to snare the early lead in the Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA) Camp-2013 Second Season basketball tournament at the barangay Quiot Sports Complex.

RCAF led from start to finish and was most potent in the fourth period where it outscored Mariquit Aqua, 33-20.

Taks Ramirez led RCAF with 20 points while Danrey Baclay and Lennon Rafols added 16 points each. Fredan Caballero and Glen Tuburan paced Mariquit Aqua Venture with 23 and 15, respectively.

Earlier, Quiot dumped winless Ubcamp Magic, 95-79 with Eddie Roma and center Arnel Abellanosa scoring 21 and 17 points, respectively while Jessie Rudinas and Romar Pepito paced Ubcamp Magic with 20 and 14 points, respectively.

In the main game, ICC Pharmacy of Erik Piñoza whacked San Carlos Heights (0-1) of Yoly Meso, 111-85, for its first win in three games.

The trio of Louie Villarin, Danny Dela Peña and Barak Lasque fired 16 points each to lead ICC Pharmacy while Charlie Sadorra paced San Carlos Heights with 27 markers.
