Big Chill tries to end skid vs Cagayan today

/ 06:56 AM January 10, 2013

BIG Chill will try to recover from consecutive losses when it battles the tough Cagayan Valley Rising Suns in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup over at the Arellano University Gym in Legarda, Manila.

The Superchargers are tied with the idle Blackwater Sports Elite in the standings with similar 5-3 (win-loss) records. With the reigning champions, NLEX Road Warriors, clinching the first outright semifinal slot, the race is on to get the other ticket straight to the Final Four.

In the other game, Boracay Rum and Erase Xfoliant seek an all-important win against each other in their scheduled match at 4 p.m. to keep their flickering playoff hopes alive. Boracay Rum and Erase Xfoliant are tied for ninth and tenth spots with 2-5 marks.

Cagayan Valley lost their last two games by no more than four points. It lost to Cebuana Lhuillier, 82-86, and to newcomer Jose Rizal University, 100-103, last Dec 20. The Rising Suns, tied for fourth and fifth spots with idle Fruitas, are 1 ½ games behind The Superchargers and the Elite.

Both the Superchargers and the Rising Suns have not played in almost three weeks and could be a little rusty coming into the game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
