MAN SHOOTS SELF

A MAN was killed after he allegedly shot himself in the head in front of his friend in barangay Suba, Danao City, northern Cebu.

The incident happened outside the house of Mario Almerez past 10 a.m. Monday.

Investigation is in progress to determine if there was foul play involved in the incident, Supt. Resty Santos, chief of the Danao police, said.

The victim’s wife told police that she and her husband had no marital problems which may have drove the man to kill himself.

The wife said it could be a case of accident shooting.

Police said Almerez was sitting on a bamboo bench when his friend Pelagio Piquero, 42, arrived.

Police said Piquero was about to greet his friend when Almerez shot himself.
