KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines—Suspected communist rebels snatched a woman and two soldiers in President Roxas, North Cotabato, the military said Friday.

Lieutenant Manuel Gatus, spokesperson of the Army’s 57th Infantry Battalion, said the incident took place in Datu Puas Inda village around 2 p.m. Thursday.

He said the soldiers and former barangay councilwoman Lorie Lastimoso were on their way to another village for a consultation with residents when their vehicle was flagged down by heavily armed rebels.
