THE young guns grabbed the spotlight in last weekend’s first ever Provincial Police Shootfest-Superintendent Patrocinio Comendador Cup held at the CPRA shooting range in Lapu-Lapu city.

Jay Anthony Yulo, one of the fast rising junior shooters here in Cebu, flashed his shooting prowess by dominating the centerpiece Open division beating veteran rivals including Hong Kong’s Cesar Ting and Tse Man Lai.

In the IPSC shooting format, Martin Belarmino topped the Production division winning over Police Inspector Keith Andaya and Cebu City Police Office SWAT team member Dionisio Baylosis.

Meanwhile, former junior national champion Kevin Cortes ruled the Standard division while police officer Arestil Famor and Christopher Panes settled at second and third spots, respectively.

Maggie Quieso of M. Lhuillier topped the Ladies category of the shooting event that attracted 500 lawmen and 100 civilian shooters who competed in an International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) format tournament. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
