THE volleybelles of the reigning champions, Mandaue City continue to be untouchable after they secured their fourth straight victory after handing Minglanilla their first defeat, 25-12, 25-17, in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup late Tuesday evening at the Cebu International Convention Center in Mandaue City.

Manned by such notable names in local volleyball such as former RP team members Genie Sabas and Jusabelle Brillo, Mandaue played awesome volleyball in hiking their record up to a clean 4-0 (win-loss) while dropping Minglanilla to 3-1 in group B action.

Catmon continues to keep in step with Mandaue as it too earned its fourth win in as many games following its, 25-10, 25-9 bashing of Oslob.

In group A action, Liloan ascended to tie Talisay at the top of the standings after beating Toledo, 25-17, 25-17. The win by Liloan created a tie at the top with Talisay as both squads own identical 4-0 marks while Toledo dropped to 3-2. Sta. Fe also won over Moalboal by default. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
