DOJ submits Fil-Am’s drug case for resolution

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DOJ) submitted for resolution the formal investigation on the drug case against the Filipino-American Kevin Bryan Hills.

Hills was arrested by members of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) in Makati last month and confiscated P50 million worth of shabu.

During Wednesday’s clarificatiory hearing, a representative of the Ayala Property Management Office (PMO) managing The Columns condominium said they could no longer produce the CCTV footage requested by Hills.

Hills sought a CCTV footage of the area where the alleged test buy took place. He is insisting that there was no test buy.

The AIDSOTF alleged that the “test buy” between Hills and undercover agents of the agency took place on Nov. 7; the incident served as basis for AIDSOTF’s application for search warrant before a Makati City trial court.

Aside from the drugs, the authorities also seized a vehicle with government license plate SEP 825.

The Pajero SUV was allegedly parked on a slot leased by Hills in Column Tower 2, Ayala Avenue. Investigation showed that it was also used by a staff of lawmaker Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo. The remaining 1 kilo was allegedly seized from Hill’s condominium unit.

Hills was accompanied to the DOJ by his father; both father and son refused to issue statements to the media.
