Slay suspect, companion killed in Laguna shootout–police
CAMP PACIANO RIZAL, Laguna—-A murder suspect and his companion were killed in a shootout with the police in Biñan City, Laguna before noon on Wednesday, according to the authorities.
In a text message, Superintendent Leonardo Luna, Biñan City police chief, said the shootout occurred around 11 a.m. after intelligence operatives were tipped off that two suspicious men on a motorcycle were seen at the Villa Adelina Subdivision in Barangay (village) Sto. Tomas.
Luna said policemen tried to flag down the suspects but the two opened fire, prompting law enforcers to retaliate.
One of the slain men was identified by a village captain as an alias Charlie “Tattoo” who, according to police records, was responsible for the killing of a certain Jerry Torres in Biñan on Nov. 16.
Police have yet to identify the second fatality.
Luna said recovered from the scene were the suspect’s motorcycle and two handguns, one a .45 cal. and the other a .38
