Cebuano netters shine in BP regional meet

TEAM Cebu netters dominated the regional eliminations of the Batang Pinoy in Tacloban yesterday by clinching both the singles and doubles titles.

The team is manned by Jan Godfrey Seno, Christopher Encarnacion, Jermaine Laurel and Norman Enriquez.

Seno notched the singles title over teammate Encarnacion with an 8-2 demolition.

Laurel bowed out in the first round while Enriquez reached as high as the quarterfinals.

Seno and Encarnacion then teamed-up to clinch the doubles title over a duo from Tacloban, 8-3.

They dismissed another Tacloban pair in the semifinals at 8-2.

With the win, the team will advance to the national finals in Iloilo.

However, the team is unsure of playing in national finals since it is in conflict with the holding of the Central Visayas Regional Athletics Association (CVIRAA) meet in Dumaguete during the first week of December.
