Fun run for Navotas scholars
Stay fit and have fun while helping poor but deserving students in Navotas City.
The Navotas City government is holding a fun run dubbed “Takbo ni Juan Para sa Iskolar ng Bayan” on November 18 to add funds to the city’s scholarship program for underprivileged youths.
“Aside from the annual budget for the said program, this fund-raising activity aims to accommodate more scholars and ensure that the brightest and disadvantaged but deserving students in the city attain their dreams of a quality education,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said in a statement.
Tiangco recalled that last year’s fun run raised around P1 million for the program, which the city government used for the benefit of hundreds of high school and college students.
He said parts of the fund will also support a number of teachers taking post-graduate courses.
The fun run will start at 6 a.m. at the C4 bridge in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan North. Participants may join the 3K and 5K categories. Bikers and skaters in are also expected to join the activity.
