Martians halt IBP-Gwapo’s win streak in Picpa hoopla
THE BCH Martians stopped the four-game winning streak of league-leader IBP-Gwapo via an, 92-84 overtime win last Wednesday night in the ongoing Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)-2012 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
The Martians led, 20-17 in the opening period but IBP-Gwapo went strong in the 2nd stanza with a, 15-12 bomb that tied the score at 32-all at half.
The second half was equally close and regulation ended in a, 73-all deadlock on the two charity shots of IBP-Gwapo’s Ferdie Riveral. The BCH Martians however, outscored IBP-Gwapo, 19-11 for its third win in four games (3-1).
Edlin Endrina scattered a game-high 25 points spiked by five trifectas for the Martians while Ryan Alejandre added 22 markers. Bads del Prado and Barry Busi paced IBP-Gwapo with 18 and 12 points, respectively.
In the other game, the Warriors Intangibles defaulted IBP-B to even their records at 2-2 cards.
