Man killed in Mandaue road accidents

A 55-YEAR-OLD man died and a 70-year-old man was wounded in separate road accidents in Mandaue City.

Police identified the fatality as Ernelito Tambacan, a resident of Consolacion town, Cebu.

Police said Tambacan crossed a road when he was hit by a motorcycle in M.C. Briones Street in barangay Basak past 5 a.m. yesterday.

Adrian Landia, 23, the driver of the motorcycle, was wounded in the accident.

Tambacan was declared dead when he was brought to the Mandaue City Hospital.

Landia was confined in a Cebu City hospital.

In barangay Umapad, Ceasar Parone was wounded after he was hit by a Ceres bus while crossing Plaridel Street around 7 p.m. last Sunday.

The Ceres bus with plate number GWY-564 was driven by 28-year-old Vergil Sumagang, who was detained at the Opao police station.

Police are still waiting for Parone to recuperate for the filing of reckless imprudence resulting to physical injuries charges against the bus driver./CORRESPONDENT JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
