Bhutakalz stops win streak of Pecandela

TEAM Bhutakalz formerly Young Lawyers Association of Cebu (YLAC) stopped the five-game streak of Pecandela Law Firm-Primary Homes, 58-54, last Saturday to improve to 4-2 (win-loss) in the 9th IBP-2012 basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.

Pecandela led by single-digit in the first three periods, but cooled down in the final quarter allowing Bhutakalz to steal the win.

Van Ligutan led Bhutakalz with 14 points while Sam Malazarte paced Pecandela with 10 markers.

In the other game, Paneros (5-1) beat Eagles, 80-76, in overtime. Paneros led by 10 points, 58-48, entering the final quarter, but the Eagles tied the count at 67-all on Marven Miralles’ triple. In the extension period, Paneros outscored Eagles, 13-9 for the win. Barry Busi and Frank Manching led Paneros with 19 and 16, respectively, while Ian Santos paced Eagles with 25 markers.

Meanwhile, the Super Idols (5-1) routed Primos (1-6), 86-55 with Benjo Macion and Ramsey Quijano scoring 21 and 20 points, respectively while Los Demonyos (3-4) crushed winless Jodin, 72-62. Bads Del Prado led Los Demonyos with 12 points.
