Tri Team Series C’ship first leg slated in Nov.

THE second edition of the Tri Team Championship Series kicks off with its first leg in San Remegio this November.

Unlike the inaugural series, the second edition dubbed Cebu Loves Tri Team Championship Series will have four legs with the second leg to be hosted by Dauis, Bohol in December, third leg in February either in Dalaguete or Bayawan and the fourth and final leg in Bantayan Island in March.

The first leg in San Remegio will have a kiddie triathlon while the tri team competition will follow the next day.

The kiddie triathlon will feature four age categories namely 8-under, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15.

The tri team competition will follow the same mechanics as the last time with each team having six members with only four to race in each leg.

Teams can also change change their four-person lineup in each leg. A relay division is also on hand for beginners in the sport.

Disciplines to be conquered are a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer bike and 10-km run.

Cash prizes for overall team champions have also doubled from P15,000 to P30,000.

Cash prizes will also be given out to the top three overall male and female with the first to get P5, 000, second with P3,000 and third to go home with P2,000. Winners in the kiddie triathlon will get trophies. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
