Wife kills husband while asleep

MANILA, Philippines–A woman was arrested after she stabbed and killed her husband in his sleep inside their home in Makati City before dawn Thursday, police said.

Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, Makati City chief of police, identified the suspect as Annalyn Elayday, 32, who was arrested at her home on Legaspi Street, Barangay (village) Olympia in Makati City for allegedly killing her husband, Octavio Jr., 36, around 1:30 a.m.

Lukban said the couple had a fight earlier that evening.

Police said Annalyn looked for her husband and found him having a drinking bout with his buddies in the neighborhood. She scolded him and asked him to stop drinking.

The couple went home later, and when Octavio fell asleep Annalyn stabbed him with a kitchen knife, police said.

He said Octavio was rushed to the Makati Medical Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
