Super Idols gains share of 2nd spot in IBP hoop
THE Super Idols whipped Los Demonyos, 74-49, last Saturday for its 4th win in five games to tie Pañeros (4-1) at second place behind Pecandela (5-0) in the 9th IBP basketball tournament at the Capitol Parish gym.
Fermin Pepito and Reiner Apolinario led Super Idols with 12 points apiece, while Bert Mañus and Ferdie Riveral paced Los Demonyos with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Earlier, Pañeros stunned Bhutakalz, 72-69 with Ruel Juban and Joseph Calipayan scoring 13 points each. Van Ligutan and Resty Arnaiz paced Bhutakalz with 27 and 16 markers.
In the other game, the Dissenters beat winless Jodin, 76-70, for its 3rd win in five games. Former UC Webmaster Kern Sesante fired a game-high 32 points for the Dissenters while Allan Geotina led Jodin with 21 markers spiked with six trifectas.
Meanwhile, the Eagles routed Primos (1-5), 74-51. Al Lagahit and Jun Hiyas led the Eagles with 25 and 19 points, respectively while Al Limalima and Enrique Rama paced Primos with 17 and 14 markers. /Corresondent Dale Rosal
