Meal Time, Crunchicken prevail in Cepba caging

MEAL Time and Crunchicken scored contrasting wins at the start of the Cebu Professional Basketball Association (Cepba) 48th Anniversary Cup basketball tournament at the YMCA gym in Jones Avenue.

Meal Time of Darryl Yuvallos nipped Geraldez, 84-82, while Benedict Chua’s Crunchicken crushed guest team Philhealth, 99-89 in the main game on opening day.

The four-team tournament, under the leadership of Cepba president Dennis Villamor with committee members Mario Congson and Bong Begontes will follow a single round robin format wherein the top two teams after the elims will battle for the title.
