Kenyan Kiptanui tops World Heart Day Run
KENYAN Josphat Kiptanui capped his weekend with another crown as he topped the 15-kilometer race in the 9th World Heart Day Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
Kiptanui also won last Saturday’s 10-kilometer crown in the Maternity Run. Yesterday, he won the men’s 15k crown by clocking 49 minutes and 28 seconds.
In the distaff side, University of Southern Philippines-Foundation’s Joeyry Lee claimed the top spot by finishing with a time of 1:09:30.
Fellow Kenyans Abraham Missous and Douglas Mwiti were runners-up in the men’s side with Missous clocking 51:31 for second place and Mwiti finishing in 52:10 for third place.
Madelyn Carter (1:14:02) and Merlita Arias-Dunkin (1:15:30) claimed the second and third spots, respectively, in the women’s side.
Aiza Suaybaguio lorded the 6k with a time of 25:37 while another Kenyan, Francis Kakui, topped the men’s side with a time of 20:04.
