SSI FC teams collar men’s, ladies titles in Mepz-HRA Football tilt

THE SSI FC dominated the 2nd MEPZ-HRA Football Festival after it clinched both men’s and ladies titles yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City.

SSI FC grabbed the men’s title after prevailing over FC Timex-ea via a penalty shootout, 2-1, while its ladies team proved that they also have steady nerves after outlasting Lear FC also in a penalty shootout, 3-1.

FC Timex-ea settled for the first runner-up honor in the men’s open followed by Makoto FC and FC Timex 1.

Lear FC also had the first runner-up honors in the ladies open while Lexmark FC finished as the second runner-up.

This tournament is part of the MEPZ-HRA Sports Fest 2012 initiated by the Human Resources Association (HRA) of the Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) in cooperation with FC Timex to foster physical fitness, camaraderie and sportsmanship among the companies. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
